Alessandro Canali received his law degree from La Sapienza University in Rome in November 1998. He completed his two years of legal apprenticeship ("pratica" required by the Italian Bar Association) from 1999-2001 at the Law Office of Basilio Perugini in Rome. In 2001 he passed the Italian Bar Exam on the first attempt, at a time when approximately 80% of candidates in Rome were rejected at each exam (held annually in two parts, written and oral).
Mr. Canali holds a qualification to teach the subjects of law and economics in Italian high schools. In addition, he has obtained post-degree certifications in the following discipline areas: -employee law and labor unions -law in information technology -protection and promotion of human rights -Roman law -philosophy of law
Mr. Canali has been a practicing attorney in Rome since 2002, specializing in civil law. His specific areas of expertise include: real estate law, commercial law, tax and fiscal law, and entertainment law. He also works extensively in consulting and providing legal assistance to foreign companies with offices in Rome and Italy, with special emphasis on American businesses and universities.
In 2006 he served as general legal counsel and production manager for the movie "Bastardi," starring Giancarlo Giannini, Franco Nero and Don Johnson.
In April 2009 he gave lectures at University of Washington, Seattle, regarding the topic "civil law common law and Italian Judicial system" and at the Washington Bar Association CLE regarding the topic "Vatican law and judicial system". In November 2009 he gave lecture at the Washington State Bar association CLE - International practice- regarding the topic "the common law, civil law systems and the Italian criminal law referred to Amanda Knox case"
His Italian practice is based in Rome at the Studio Legale Perugini one among the oldest law firm in Italy, first established in A.D. 1792.
He has published two historical and legal texts with the publishing house Nuove Idee Editore: -Il Culto del Graal ed i simboli di Bominaco (The Cult of the Holy Grail and the Symbols of Bominaco); -Ius Vs. Gladiator, gladiatori ed attori nel pensiero giuridico romano (Ius Vs. Gladiator, Gladiators and Actors in Roman Law).
